Semantic Notes

04      PKG04 should be used for industry-specific packaging description codes.

Comments

00      Use the MEA (Measurements) Segment to define dimensions, tolerances, weights, 
        counts, physical restrictions, etc.

01      If PKG01 equals "F", then PKG05 is used. If PKG01 equals "S", then PKG04 is 
        used. If PKG01 equals "X", then both PKG04 and PKG05 are used.

03      Use PKG03 to indicate the organization that publishes the code list being 
        referred to.

05      Special marking or tagging data can be given in PKG05 (description).
